MTS India and Uninor Mumbai telecom subscribers can continue their service till February 4, 2013 instead of 18 January deadline.
Supreme Court today extends the validity of existing telecom companies 2G spectrum license last date, So MTS India and Uninor Mumbai can continue telecommunication operation till 4th February 2013 and next hearing will be announced on that day.
Uninor under Telenor group is going to take part in upcoming 2G spectrum Auction to collect the license for Mumbai telecom circle which will be held in March 2013 and there is no change for Uninor West Bengal and Kolkata customers. Uninor is going to shut down its operation in W.B and Kolkata in January 18, 2013.

Uninor said in a statement
“The Supreme Court today extended till February 4 the January 18 deadline for existing operators of 2G spectrum to carry out operations. It also asked the Center to spell out the price to be charged for continuing with their service after cancellation of licenses last year.”
In last auction for spectrum of 1800Mhz band, Uninor managed to bag 2G spectrum license for next 20 years in the six circles: UP East and West, Maharashtra, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand and AP except Mumbai, Kolkata and West Bengal.
