BSNL 3g offer 1099 is only plan offering unlimited data usage at 3g speed now becomes a better choice over Jio 4g when data usage & speed are concerned. Jio failed to upgrade speed even after capping data limit to 1GB/day. To get extra data subscribers need to spend Rs 50/gb which is not available for now and, will come effecting once Jio special offer comes to an end.
Jio's strategy was to make people internet-savvy and then collecting revenue from the services by launching some lucrative but costly data plans. Jio now seems not interested in continuing the same – 1GB/data limit & Combo packs 51 & 301 are the best example.
Customers were more interested in term ‘Unlimited' than what operators were offering. The term ‘Unlimited' has been modified from last couple of years thanks to leading telecom operators. Now, It's funny to expect speed based plans from an operator which failed to maintain 4G speed at an expected level.
Jio 4g speed, at initial days, was more than 6MBPS (48mbps) at average which now becomes 1MBPS to 1.9MBPS. Growth in subscribers crossed 100 millions but Jio also put a limit in daily data usage: 1GB/day.
To get 1GB+ data usage subscribers need to recharge combo pack 51/day which offers 1GB/day or Combo plan 301 which offers 6GB data for 28 days.
If daily data consumption remains 10GB/day
Jio users need to pay
In current scenario
- Plan 1: Rs 51 x 9 x 30 = Rs 13,770
- Plan 2: Rs 301 x 2 x 30 = Rs 18,060
- 10GB x 30 days = 300GB per month
After 31st March, 2017 (If Jio terminates freebie offers)
- Entry level Plan : Base Plan 149 + ( 50 X 10 x 30) = Rs 15,149
For both the above plans, Jio average (Aprx.) 4g speed 1.9MBPS
BSNL 3g users need to pay
- Plan: 3G plan 1099 for 28 days = Rs 1099
- No data limit, 20GB+ x 28 days : 560GB+ data for 28 days
BSNL average (Aprx.) 3g speed 1.2MBPS
BSNL is now offering unlimited on-net & off-net voice calls @Rs 149. BSNL subscribers can easily get unlimited voice & data just by paying Rs 1248 (3g plan 1099 + Voice plan 149). Subscribers can download 20GB+ data per day.
From above calculation you can easily understand which is better when data usage & speed are concerned.
It's worth mentioning that Jio unlimited offerings helped rest of the telecom operators to remove pressure on network which further helped operators to launch unlimited offerings for end users.
BSNL has improved 3g network a lot – Streaming & Downloading become much faster, browsing is now very smooth. Disconnection of data services at certain interval of time is only drawback in BSNL 3g network. Jio failed to improve network & speed to expected level till now.
2GB data per day is enough for basic web browsing, social network access, YouTube streaming (HD) & watching TV (HD) which means Jio subscribers need to spend Rs 1530 (Plan 51 x 30) extra to enjoy 4G at its best and, if and only if 1GB/day limit becomes insufficient.
BSNL unlimited 3g plan 1099 is a complete solution for those Jio subscribers who are now complaining Jio for not providing unlimited 4g. Average download speed for both Jio 4g & BSNL 3g becomes 1.2MBPS where Jio caps data limit to 1GB/day but BSNL eliminated all types of speed restriction in 3g plan 1099.
